At the York Hospital, CMSI was contracted to design and construct a new Philips biplane cath lab in an existing shell space within the cardiac cath unit. Three existing labs already were in place and adjacent to the area of work.
CMSI completed the project on an accelerated schedule. Additional planning was required to accommodate for future equipment upgrades. High infectious control requirements were necessary due to the adjacent labs and patient prep areas.
