CMSI Awarded Cath Lab Replacement Job for Hanover Hospital
(Baltimore, MD – August 29, 2011) Hanover Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute will soon upgrade their cardio-cath lab with a Philips Healthcare Allura Xper FD20/10 Biplane cardiovascular X-ray system. Consolidated Medical Systems, Inc. of Hunt Valley, MD, has been awarded responsibility for the design and construction of the 1000 s.f. project.
CMSI will improve lighting and HVAC and upgrade the electrical service to support the new equipment. In addition, Philips Healthcare will supply a modified system to conform to low ceiling clearances in the existing site.
The $360,000 project kicked off in June, 2011 and will be completed in October, 2011. Assisting CMSI will be Hord Coplan Macht, architects, Leach Wallace Associates, Inc., consulting engineers, and Lee Electrical Contractors.
Biplane imaging gives the cardiologist a two-dimensional view of the heart—from front to back, or side to side. With this technology, the Institute’s physicians will gain superior image quality with low dose radiation, so important during lengthy cardiac procedures.
“This project is a great fit with our expertise,” states Michael Burnett, CMSI’s Director of Business Development. “We value the opportunity to work with community-based hospitals, to help them with challenging renovations in order to better care for their patients.”
Hanover Hospital was founded in 1926 by philanthropists Harper D. Sheppard and Clinton N. Meyers. The not-for-profit hospital has 106 beds and serves York and Adams counties in Pennsylvania as well as northern Carroll County, MD.
